Translations for Spanish Speakers
Reading philosophy texts is difficult for all students, but it can be especially difficult for students whose first language is not English. Although most English-language instruction will require such students to become familiar with the English-language versions of philosophy texts since they will be completing tests and papers in English, it is still often useful for them to use translations in their own language as study guides. Although TP101 has limited experience with translations of texts into the most common first-languages of students in American universities other than English, we have located a few translations of classic intro texts in Spanish. Let us know if you have suggestions or materials especially relevant to the experience of multilingual Philosophy 101 students.
